Personal journal

As a group we have decided to change our titles name from ' Love Bite' to 'Bitten'. This is because we have changed our plan form it being a romantic film, as the boyfriend isnt going to be a main character anymore. So we had to make the title of the film seem less romantic. Instead of it being a romantic teen fantacy it is now a teen vampire action film.

Production Brief: To create a title sequence

Porject Name:Bitten

Length: 90 seconds - 2 minutes

Deadline: Friday 11th January

Group members and their roles: (Me)props, director(Charlotte)camerawoman(Sonal)editor

Brief overview of content:A girl goes missing but is actually turned into a vampire, by an evil vampire that has been stalking her group of friends for a while and has decided they will be his victims (she was turned into a vampire so she could be the creator's mate, but she is heartbroken over her friends and boyfriend so he has set out to kill the rest so she can be his forever). she is declared dead by the police but her body is never found. After her funeral, her boyfriend is sure she is still alive, feeling like he keeps seeing her face everywhere he looks, and is determined to look for her. One of her friends is then killed and afte a lot of detective work the rest of the group manage to find the evil vampire and go to find him. the girl manages to save them from being killed by killing his creator. She dissappears from her friends so that she never hurts them but stays close enough to protect them from any more harm.

Target Adience: This film is targeted towards a female audience, around 12-19.

Possible Scheduling publishing suggestions: During July/ August as our target audience would be out of school for their summer holidays so that they would be able to see it.

What comparable products have you researched?: We have researched Tim Burton opening sequence as they are slightly eerie and usually of a fantasy genre and also 'the lost boys' as that is a vampire film which relates to ours. We have also researched The Twilight Saga films as they are related to oure niche audience.

How will you test whether the product is successful? How will you check that it accomplishes the intended effect?: Through Audience feedback.

What genetic codes and conventions will be operatiing in your text?: The title of our film, cast and crew, an indiation of the location, time and genre introductionto a character and we want to raise intriguing questions with the audience so that they are turned in to our film and will want to continue watching it.

Identify any resource constrains (time, money, equiptment, human resources) that might affect your production and your hopes for your product: I think this will take a lot of our time to film because of the many
situations we want to include in it. we will need to buy a scrap book and we will need to print a lot of picturesof the characters, as well as the flowers for the funeral.

Pitch

We had to present a pitch of our film idea in our groups, pretending that they were an independent film maker and we were trying to secure funding from a production team. Our group (me,Charlotte and Sonal) choose to do a teen fantasy film that included vampires. We thought that it would be a popular choice with our target audience especially as it will have a young male actor 'Zac Efron' who will appeal to teenage girls. As part of our feed back we was told to look at the film 'Lost Boys' and a few Tim Burton title sequences. Overall our pitch went well.
